July-August Artist in Residence: Len Borruso

Meet Len Borruso, APL’s July-August Artist-in-Residence. Len presently teaches filmmaking at the Renaissance School for the Arts in Appleton. He formerly taught at Digital Revolution in Long Beach, CA and the Alliance Co-op for Film & Video in Miami Beach, FL. Len was a teaching assistant at UCLA where he earned his MFA. He has teaching experience with high school and college students as well as adults.

Stop in and see Len’s exhibit in the lower level exhibit hallway, display on the first floor, and a film loop in the second floor Digital Creation Lab. In addition to filmmaking examples throughout the Library, Len will offer a Filmmaking Demonstration at APL’s main level on Saturday, July 22 from 11:00-12:30 and two Video Editing Workshops in the second floor Digital Creation Lab on Saturdays, July 29 & August 12 from 11:00-12:30. Len wants to demystify the filmmaking process and offer training so people feel comfortable using the Digital Creation Lab for making movies. Learn how to edit videos using Adobe Premiere. Feel free to bring a flash drive or Mac hard drive to save your work. Designed for ages 14 and up. All programs are free to the public.

Funding for the Artist-in-Residence series is graciously provided by the Friends of Appleton Public Library.
