OverDrive WI Digital Library (Libby app)

Downloadable audiobooks, music, eBooks, and videos. A total of 10 items may be checked out and 10 additional items placed on hold for a single account. You will likely encounter Hold Lists for some digital titles; we do not have unlimited access to digital titles.

 HELP with OverDrive

  • The OverDrive app is called Libby by OverDrive
  • Kindle users may want to point their browser to since you cannot use the app (OverDrive only codes for compatibility with iOS, Android, and Microsoft).
  • Choosing your Library when setting up/logging into your account
    • On a computer, use InfoSoup Libraries in the selection list to select your Library. Do not choose the Appleton Public Library in Minnesota as it will not work for you.
    • On the Libby app with a zip code search, select Wisconsin Public Library Consortium as your library. If you are using the "Choose Your Location" link, use InfoSoup Libraries in the selection list.
  • Getting Started with OverDrive | OverDrive Help
  • Transfer OverDrive holds to your new library card number. In the “describe your problem” section put in NEW card number (labeled as new) and old card number (labeled as OLD).

About OverDrive & the Libby App

Libby App Doesn't Work on Your Device?

Setting Your Default Due Date Lengths

When you first sign up for OverDrive, typically it assigns you the shortest checkout period for items (EX: one week for an audiobook or book rather than 2 or 3 weeks). You can set your preferred, default checkout durations by logging into the site (this cannot be done in the app).

Submitting a Support Ticket

If you are having technical issues with a title not downloading properly and you are given an error message, library staff can submit a support ticket to OverDrive on your behalf. Here is the info we will need you to provide to us so we can pass it on to OverDrive.

RBdigital Audiobooks

RBdigital Audiobooks provides access to thousands of downloadable audiobook titles published by Recorded Books. For most all titles, there will be no waiting: if you see it, you can get it. The exception to this are "Coming Soon" titles, and "Single Use" titles. "Coming Soon" titles are audiobooks that aren't yet released to the platform, but are scheduled to soon be available per an agreed upon release date with the publisher. "Single Use" titles are additional titles APL purchases that only allow one user at a time; in those cases, you will need to place a Hold to be added to the list.
