Reading Programs


Summer Reading Program
  • Participate in the children's services reading program at the
    Appleton Public Library.
  • Program starts the end of May and runs through the months
    of June, July, and part of August.
  • For more information check out the Summer Reading Page
    during the summer months.


 

 


A Reading Program for Babies & Children
from Birth to Five

  • Plant the seed for your child's lifelong love of books.
  • The "Growing a Reader" reading program focuses on the
    six skills necessary for your child to learn to read, which start at birth.
  • Come to the library and pick up a "Growing a Reader" chart.
  • Complete one activity from each category.
  • Upon completion of the activity, cover the activity you have done
    with a sticker.
  • When you have completed six activities come to the library to collect
    a prize.
  • Program begins September 14 and ends April 30th.

Library Reading Challenge
Milwaukee Bucks Reading Challenge
  • What: Milwaukee Bucks Reading Challenge
  • Who: Open to all students in 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th grades.
  • Why: Score 500 points-for-pages to become an All-Star Reader.
    You'll earn a voucher good for a free ticket to a Bucks home game at the Bradley Center.
  • When: Reading Challenge begins in January and ends in February.
  • Where: Sign up in person in Children's Services..
  • Highlights:
    *Read more than 750 pages to become an overtime reader and get your name entered in a special drawing.
    * You pick the game:
