We do not yet have 2017 Tax Forms*

Appleton Public Library staff are not accountants or tax attorneys; they cannot provide tax assistance or advise you on which forms you need.

Tax forms are located on the shelves at the back/north side of the Information desk on the Library's main level. Tax forms are only available February through the end of April. (Info Desk: 920-832-6177)

  1. Tax forms and instructions are first-come, first-served; we cannot set aside documents for you.

  2. The WI Department of Revenue and the IRS only send an increasingly small number of select forms to us. However, you can access and print any state or federal forms from home, on a Library Catalog Computer, or with your Library Card number on a public internet computer. Printing at the library is 15 cents per print (black & white); a front-and-back printout is 30 cents.

  3. You can request the federal government to mail federal forms and booklets to you by filling out an online form or calling 1-800-829-3676.

  4. Tax forms and instructions that the Library obtains from the WI Department of Revenue and the IRS are for individual use and are not a source for tax preparers to take multiple copies.

AARP volunteers are available throughout the Fox Valley at various locations on various days. AARP volunteers will be using the Library's Lower Level Meeting Room on Tuesdays, February 6 - April 17, 2018.

    *On Wednesday, January 17, 2018 we received the following information from the IRS' Tax Forms Outlet Program:

    On January 4, the IRS announced that the 2018 tax filing season would begin on January 29. The IRS set the opening date to ensure the security and readiness of key tax processing systems in advance of the opening and to assess the potential impact of recent tax legislation on 2017 tax returns.

    We are currently working to finalize the forms and instructions to reflect the legislation which passed in late December. As a result, some shipments may come later than normal.

    While most IRS tax forms, instructions and publications will be available electronically on IRS.gov by the beginning of the filing season (Jan. 29), the printing and distribution process for printed products takes longer to complete.

    We understand that you may have questions about when tax products will be delivered to your location. We are establishing dates for printing and distributing product orders. As soon as shipping information is available, we will send a TFOP Alert and update the TFOP Shipping Chart on IRS.gov.
